Farewell, Kiko…
Francis Duran Magalona (October 4, 1964 – March 6, 2009)
A legend has passed away. For a Filipino like me, who wouldn’t know this guy, Francis M? A lot of people looked up to him, specially the young pinoys all over the world.
The news was shocking and saddening. The only thing that comforts his millions of fans is that his suffering is finally over. But he will surely be missed…
From the bottom of our hearts Mr. Francis M, thank you for the music and inspiration you offered to the world! And for such a great artist and person like you, we prefer not to remember how you died. We prefer to remember how you lived.
We love you and may God receive you in His loving arms.

Personally, I think Francis M was the dawn of Filipino Youth revolution, to not keep silent but have our say about our government and our country. I remember his songs like “Ito Ang Gusto Ko”, “Mga Kababayan Ko”, and “Meron Akong Ano” and his version of “Tayo’y Mga Pinoy”. This man is definitely a legend and an icon! May his legacy live on.
